Dr Dre: 2001
REVIEW:
Well, I picked up a copy of the new Dre album today and I can honestly say that I am very impressed. As, you all know the "return" album of the legendary rapper and producer Dr Dre dropped his latest album today! The album titled "Dr Dre: 2001" features appearences by Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, MC Ren, King T, Tray-Dee and more! Obviously there was a lot riding on this album. I think probably the coolest part about the album is that many of the songs keep the same westside/early 90s style. Although, Dr Dre has changed his style to keep up with the constantly changing world of hip-hop, he has managed to keep his same gangsta' style! Dre expresses this same old "evil" style rapping in the "Murder Ink" track that samples music from the movie "Halloween". Everyone is expecting another "Nuttin' But A G Thang" track on this album, and the equivalent of that track is "Still D.R.E". The song features Snoop Dogg and if you have seen the video you can see that, well... he is STILL D.R.E! Of course Dre has his skits on the album, which I don't want to give away, but they are VERY exciting! Most of the album is based on the question of whether Dre is still able to make it in the rap industry. The answer to the question is "yes"! This album is in my oppinion a masterpeice, from the "LoLo" intro to the last track on the album, "The Message". I'd say that if you are a Dre fan that you should definetly pick up this album! However, if you are expecting a TOTALLY SAME version of the original "The Chronic" album, then you should realized that Dre's style did change and he has adapted. Just make sure you get this album ASAP!
RATINGS:
Beats: 8.9 out of 10 - They are clean and perfected, though sometimes too melow for me.

Originality: 9.0 out of 10 - He definetly found a way of renewing his style for the new age!
Replay Value: 9.0 - There are a lot of tracks on this album that will keep you listening over and over!
FINAL SCORE: 9.1 out of 10
